Timber Point Center would complement the mission and work of the USFWS by “[fostering an understanding and instilling an appreciation]” of the natural environment and cultivating conservation stewardship.
By adaptively reusing Ewing’s former home, located on the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s (USFWS) Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, the group envisions offering a unique setting and space, and a focused, creative, contemplative environment for small groups who seek to further their work.
The Timber Point Center Working Group, comprised of members from Biddeford, Saco, the Kennebunks, greater Portland, and other area communities, is working to preserve the historic seasonal home of master architect Charles Ewing (1872-1954).
